YES! If you have been to Israel on an organised programme before your 18th birthday, as long as you stayed for less than 3 months, you can sign up for one of our Birthright Israel trips.

I went to Israel after I turned 18, am I still eligible?

Accepted Answer

If you participated in young adult or college student programs (after the age of 18) including university, study abroad, gap year, yeshiva/seminary, internship or any other experience under the umbrella of Onward Israel or Masa Israel—you’re not eligible (sorry!).

I've already been to Israel, why should I go on this trip?

Israel Tour and Birthright Israel are both amazing experiences, but they’re quite different — especially for people in the UK. Israel Tour is usually a school or youth group trip for 15–16 year olds, with a strong educational focus and a structured itinerary. Birthright Israel focuses on connection-building, history, real conversations and more independence.

You won’t be travelling with your school group — you’ll meet new people from across the UK and experience Israel in a more immersive way. You’ve grown since Israel Tour — Birthright Israel is your way to see Israel properly — you’ll visit new places and see sides of the country you simply didn’t on Israel Tour, and it’s something you won’t want to miss.

Taglit Birthright Israel began with a bold idea—offering a free, life-changing trip to Israel for young Jewish adults between the ages of 18 and 26 and, in doing so, transforming the Jewish future.
 
Our mission is to provide all young Jewish adults with opportunities for transformative and immersive shared experiences in Israel and a foundation for ongoing Jewish connection. 
 
The trip is made possible in the UK thanks to the generous support of UJIA, Committed Jewish philanthropists and individual donors and the people of Israel through the government of Israel.
 
Today, Birthright Israel is the largest educational tourism organisation in the world that has given over 900,000 life changing journeys.

Can I travel with mates?

Yes — you can travel with friends, and we do our best to place friends on the same trip when you apply together or let us know in advance. That said, placements depend on availability and logistics, so while it’s very often possible, it can’t be guaranteed 100%. Our advice: apply early and flag your friend requests as soon as you can to maximise the chances.
